Why consider a legacy gift?
- Ensure a sustainable community: Choosing to remember the UJC with a bequest in your Will
is the perfect way to let your care and compassion for the Jewish community of Cape Town continue in years to come.
- Amplify your impact: After your lifetime, it’s possible to make a more significant gift than you might otherwise not be able to afford.
- Enjoy tax benefits: By including charitable gifts in your estate planning, you may reduce or eliminate significant taxes payable upon your death.
- There’s no commitment: Circumstances can change and that’s okay. Because you are not actually making a gift until after your lifetime, you can change your mind and your Will at any time.
When giving instructions for the drafting of your will or the amendment by way of codicil to an existing will we recommend the following wording:
“I hereby give and bequeath the sum of RXXX (alternatively) a XXX share of the whole of (alternatively) a XXX share of the residue of my estate to United Jewish Campaign, the umbrella fundraising organisation for the Cape Town Jewish community, non-profit registration no 039-530NPO and main place of business at 87 Hatfield St, Gardens, Cape Town, 8000 to be used at the sole discretion of United Jewish Campaign for funding of the Jewish community beneficiaries of the said organisation in South Africa.”
A gift in your Will to the UJC is a gift of hope and sustainability for future generations. It is a gift that will help protect our precious community.
